Mothers need to know the baby's reflexes when get stimuli such as music, voices, or others associated with hearing babies. In fact, the earlier the disorder is known to recover the greater the opportunity. The experts also support this that the sooner a problem is detected, the better the children adapt to the methods of stimulation and learning. Many problems of hearing loss that can be resolved when the baby is 3 months old yet.

In the first few years of life, hearing is an important part in the development of social, emotional, and cognitive child. Even mild or partial hearing loss can affect children's ability to speak and understand language.

Hearing loss in infants can be diagnosed by examination of hearing. The earliest is a doctor or midwife to do a simple hearing test to check the baby's hearing before leaving the hospital or maternity home. However, do not panic or assume the existence of disorder, when the baby does not pass the hearing test because there are many other factors that could cause the baby's hearing impaired. Such as dirt or excessive ear fluid can also be a factor causing the disruption of hearing. So it's important to always evaluate the health of our little baby from the beginning till the birth of a child grows into an intelligent and active.

Some risk factors for hearing loss in children such as:

premature birth

stay in neonatal intensive care unit

high bilirubin requiring a transfusion

given the drugs that can cause hearing loss

have a family history of hearing loss

had complications at birth

ear infections or other infections such as meningitis, toxoplasmosis or cytomegalovirus

exposure to very loud voice.
Most newborns will be surprised when they hear a sudden loud noise. 3-month-old baby usually recognize the voice of parents. At the age of 6 months, the baby has been shifting gaze or turned his head toward the sound. If your child did not respond to normal hearing, immediately checked the child to a specialist ENT or hearing specialist (audiology). The doctor will typically examine your child's hearing by eudiometry and other clinical examinations. Audiometric examinations performed in a soundproof booth with games and special equipment that allows physicians to assess the level of hearing children. Children who appear to have normal hearing should still be evaluated periodically and at any time if there is a concern. Many learning problems in school achievement and communication difficulties of children who were unwittingly caused by hearing problems.

The air passing through the arrangement of the labyrinth in the nasal cavity so that it will experience heating the incoming air into the lungs will reach body temperature, but it is also due to moisture in the mucous membranes in the nasal cavity, then the air will be humidified before entering into the lungs lung. Mucous membranes are created in the nasal cavity will trap dust, foreign objects, which are not successfully filtered by the nose hair.

Also in this nasal labyrinth system empties into a few holes of the sinuses which surround the facial bones, and also the channel that connects with the tear ducts (ductal nasolakrimalis) so prone to excessive tear production when it will be disposed of through the nose.

3. Olfactory nerve

At the base of the nasal cavity are the neural origin of the brain is the olfactory nerve (olfactory) whose function is to detect an odor stimuli and transmitted to the brain to be processed and recognized the smell. However, in specific disease states will be reduced olfactory nerve function, such as flu, there will be swelling of the mucous membranes of the nose so it will cause pressure on the nerves of smell and reduced function.
